When she’s not writing blogs, managing social media, pestering instructors & graduates for content, or attending meetups, you can find her traveling the world or at home with her beloved dog Lola.
On Saturday Nashville Software School and Tech Hill Commons was filled with energy from the Nashville tech community for BarCamp Nashville. The doors opened at 8am and the building quickly filled with eager learners. With sessions ranging from interviewing, to how to speak at BarCamp, to VR and AI, there was something for everyone.

Cohort 21 wrapped up their first 3 months of bootcamp last week with their front-end demo day. No matter how many front-end demo days our instructors and staff have been a part of, we're always impressed with the level of the projects the students present. By the time front-end demo day arrives, the students have presented as groups several times and test-driven their front-end demo presentation to their classmates.

On Friday we graduated 27 junior developers from Cohort 19. To showcase all that they’ve learned at NSS, the graduates presented their front-end and back-end capstones to prospective employers one-on-one. During their six months with NSS, Cohort 19 learned front-end development using HTML/CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, AngularJS and server-side development with C#/>NET. Get to know our newest graduates.

He distinctly remembers thinking, “Going back to school sounds miserable and wasteful. It was the weekend before the total solar eclipse and over 70 NSS alumni and students gathered at the school for the alumni’s first hackathon. One of the 12 apps built that weekend is called Total Eclipse and teaches JavaScript functions. Alumnus Chris Jarvis was a part of the team that built it and blogged about his experience and what he learned.
