In just three weeks, Nashville Software School and Nashville Technology Council will be buzzing with volunteers for HCA Foundation’s Hack For The Community. The 36 hour hackathon will bring together software developers and designers from across Nashville, including some of our students and alumni. It was the weekend before the total solar eclipse and over 70 NSS alumni and students gathered at the school for the alumni’s first hackathon. One of the 12 apps built that weekend is called Total Eclipse and teaches JavaScript functions. The Nashville Entrepreneur Center was filled with old and new friends as we celebrated the impact women are making in the Nashville tech community. Women attended from Nashville Girl Geek Dinner, Women in Technology Tennessee (WiTT), Women Get IT, Tech Ladies, and Nashville Women Programmers. While each of these organizations offers different environments and programs, they all seek to empower women in tech.
