Thank you to everyone who attended Demo Day last Friday to support our most recent graduates! The hackery and classroom were filled with employers eager to meet our first cohort of front-end web designer/developers and our next cohort of full stack C#/.NET web developers. There were several times where all 23 graduates at demo day were meeting with employers!
Our front-end web designer/developers spent six months learning front-end development and UX and UI design. Here’s what they learned:
- Front-end development using HTML/CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, React, Node.js, and lots of other tools, APIs, libraries and frameworks
- UX & UI design, including Interaction Design Principles, Visual Design, Prototyping, Usability Testing, and Portfolio Development in a collaborative development environment.
Our full stack C#/.NET web developers spent one year, part-time, learning front-end and server-side development while working full time jobs. Here’s what they learned:
- Front-end development using HTML/CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, AngularJS, and lots of other tools, APIs, libraries and frameworks
- Server-side development with C#/.NET, including test-driven development, SQL, and more, in a full agile, mock-company environment

Throughout the day, our graduates also met with NSS friend and podcaster, Clark Buckner, to talk about their time at NSS and the capstone projects they built. You can listen to their interviews below.
After a busy day, both cohorts gathered for final words of encouragement from John Wark.
