Nashville Software School announces a change in the start date for its next Web Developer Bootcamp training program. Our third student cohort will start classes on Monday, September 9, 2013. This is the class that was originally planned to start on July 8, 2013. In other words, we are delaying the start of our next Bootcamp by 2 months.
This delay will allow us to start the next class in our own classroom facility and will allow us the time and resources required to prepare for opening our new facility. Our new facility will give us significantly more flexibility in designing and delivering our classes, will provide facilities for our mentor community to better work and engage with our students and will give us the ability to program activities seven days a week and 24 hours a day. It will provide a much better platform for executing our mission to prepare people for careers as professional software developers.
Students who have applied for admission to our third student cohort do NOT need to re-apply. We will treat all applications received thus far as applications for the September class. We will be back in touch with all applicants in the next two weeks to provide more details regarding the timeline for processing applications and making decisions on admissions. At that time applicants will have an opportunity to tell us if they no longer wish to be considered for admission in September. We will begin interviewing applicants in May. Our target date for finalizing all admissions to the September class is early July.
We apologize for any disruption in plans or other inconvenience this change in schedule has created for applicants to the program. It has not been an easy decision to delay starting the next class; however, we believe the benefits that will come from the delay more than outweigh the impact of the delay.
We are not yet ready to announce the details of our new location. We are finalizing our plans at this time and expect to make a formal announcement of those plans before the end of May.
