Carter Culkin of Full-time Web Development Cohort 47 at Nashville Software SchoolCarter Culkin of Full-time Web Development Cohort 47 has spent most of his professional life working in the automotive industry. After realizing how much he valued “not mixing work and play,” he left the industry and decided to pursue web development.

What was your favorite capstone project and what about it made it your favorite?

“I would say my full-stack capstone Provenance was my favorite to work on. I encountered some fairly painful problems late into the project but I am proud of what I was able to accomplish in the amount of time that I did.”

What advice would you give to current or incoming NSS Web Development students?

“Back up your work on a hard drive separate to your computer and not connected to GitHub.”

What was your favorite part of your NSS experience?

“I had a great time learning from the instructors and from my classmates. Every instructor was different and taught in their own unique way. I also deeply appreciated the daily crossword most of us would do, that was really fun.”
