Maeva Ralafiarindaza of Data Science Cohort 4 at Nashville Software School-jpeg-1Maeva Ralfiarindaza describes himself as a “logic-driven person, passionate about working with data and technology to solve problems, to help people make informed decisions, and to understand how things work.” Having worked with computer networks, databases, and reporting for the last 8 years, Maeva wanted to understand more about how to use data and technologies to discover opportunities for solving problems which led him to attend Nashville Software School’s Part-time Data Science Cohort 4!

Why did you choose to attend NSS?

“I wanted a good foundation for my Data Science and Machine Learning career. I have been a self-learner for a long time but having knowledgeable instructors give me an orientation was much more valuable.”

How did you choose the topic for your capstone project?

“I wanted to do something related to Natural Language Processing and put a Machine Learning model into production.”

What advice would you give to future NSS data science students?

“Keep grinding even when you hit a wall! Ask your instructors questions as much as possible! Learn how to solve problems and present results in a clear and understandable way. A lot of programming is about solving problems. Everything about coding is in practicing real-world projects. But the results will eventually need to be communicated to the stakeholders with as little technical jargon as possible.”

HIRED!

Since graduating, Maeva has accepted his first job as a data analyst! In his free time, Maeva enjoys playing guitar and piano, recording covers of songs and posting them on YouTube! Listen to Maeva's podcast to hear about his NSS experience and capstone projects. Connect with Maeva by visiting his LinkedIn profile.

I am looking forward to digging deeper into this vast field [of Data Science].
