Sosina Tolossa of Full-time Web Development Cohort 45 at Nashville Software SchoolSosina Tolossa of Full-time Web Development Cohort 45 was working in various customer service roles prior to attending NSS. Though she enjoyed helping people, she wasn’t getting to use her critical thinking skills. “Being a software developer allows me to use my problem solving skills through technology and fulfill my eagerness to continue learning,” she shares.

Now graduated, Sosina is excited to share the wealth of knowledge and leadership experience as she searches for her first job in tech! “[They’ve both allowed] me to be confident in my ability to maximize efficiency and effectiveness within the [tech] industry.”

What was your favorite capstone project and why?

“My front-end capstone project, ‘Zurīng the World’,  was my favorite capstone project because I was able to work with React and CSS more. I was able to make my application presentable and create a good user experience.”

What advice would you give to current or incoming NSS Web Development students?

"Plan a lot and don’t forget you are in the learning phase, even when you’re working on your capstone. You know more than you think you do."

What roadblocks did you encounter along the way?

"I experienced some imposter syndrome when learning new concepts and when capstones were approaching, but I overcame them by getting hands on and kept coding."
