Ryan DeVault of Web Development Cohort 45 worked as an accountant in both private and publicaccounting. While he enjoyed the challenge that accounting brought, a friend suggested that he check out Nashville Software School (NSS) and he decided to give it a shot.
“After making the decision to change my career to web development, I have never been happier,” he shares. “Every week [at NSS], I [had] the pleasure of coding alongside some of the best students and teachers.” Ryan continues to look forward to learning something new every week in his new field.
What was your favorite capstone project and why?
“GroSharies. I enjoyed working on both capstones but with GroSharies I implemented the front-end and server-side of the capstone and learned a lot from it. I am still working on it today and enjoying every bit of it!”
What advice would you give to current or incoming NSS Web Development students?
“Do your best, don’t beat yourself down for not understanding things immediately and don’t be nervous to ask for help.”
