“I had several friends who had gone through various programs,” Abi shares in her podcast. “It came with raving, high reviews from my friends who completed the program.”
“My favorite part of the NSS experience was the diversity of thought that comes from a program that nurtures new skills in people looking to make a change. So many students enroll at NSS for a career pivot, which means that people enter the class with all sorts of experiences and previous expertise. Getting to work in group projects with people who thought differently from me and brought different ideas to the table made me a more creative problem solver and, in turn, a better analyst. And I made some awesome friends that I never would have met otherwise!”
“My capstone project was about the Broadway theatre industry and indicators that might show how successful a play or musical will be. I am a life-long theatre lover, and reading through the weekly gross revenue reports on playbill.com as a nerdy high schooler was my first foray into being interested in data trends, so it felt natural to return to that data for this project.”
“Give yourself grace, and remember that this material is hard! Allow yourself the space to wrestle with it if you don't understand it right away -- the payoff when the lightbulb goes off is the best feeling, so hold out for it!”
Abi started her job search before graduation and that effort paid off with a job offer before graduation! Abi now works as a Business Analyst for AllianceBernstein! Way to go, Abi!
