Jaimie Hart of Full-time Web Development Cohort 54 was a radio DJ for 13 years while working independently as a WordPress web designer and SEO content writer for 5 years. "I knew a little bit of front-end development in order to (work in WordPress), and I really loved doing it, so I wanted to take it to the next level and learn full-stack web development," Jaimie explains in her podcast. "I was recommended by some friends to apply to Nashville Software School (NSS)."

What was your favorite part of your NSS experience?

"The people!"

What was your favorite capstone project and what about it made it your favorite?

"My favorite capstone project was Wax, mainly because it was an amalgamation of my hobbies and software development skills. It solved a problem I experienced myself, allowing vinyl record collectors to have a virtual inventory for their record collection. It also helps record collectors find valuable information about records on the spot while they're in the record store. Additionally, it felt like a huge accomplishment being able to utilize the Discogs API before we even got into the back-end portion of the program."

What roadblocks did you encounter along the way?

"Getting COVID in the middle of the program was definitely a challenge. It was helpful to feel supported during that time, and to also be reminded to take care of yourself even when undergoing an intensive curriculum."

​​What advice would you give to current or incoming NSS Students? 

"Accept any challenge as a moment of growth and enjoy the process!"
