Former technology recruiter Jessica Brawner joins the Nashville Software School team as the school’s first Career Development Specialist.

Jessica’s primary roles at NSS will be to help current students plan their careers, and to provide personalized support for their job search once they graduate. She has eight years of experience, having recruited for highly technical roles including Firmware Engineers and Software Developers with a staffing agency and as a corporate recruiter for NC2 Media, Emdeon and Walgreens.

At NC2 Media, she recruited talent for gaming and media projects. She had started recruiting candidates for engineering roles and transitioned to IT/development in 2010. She has worked with candidates in every career phase from entry-level to Chief Technology Officer.

“Because Jessica was a recruiter for so long, she knows the questions hiring managers ask, and the kinds of things they’re looking for,” Wark said, “Heck, for a lot of places locally, she knows the hiring manager. Jessica will be a tremendous asset for our students and graduates, and we’re fortunate to have her.”

“I love helping candidates market themselves,” Jessica said. “The best part is when I’m able to help someone secure a job that not only meets their financial goals but is an ideal fit for them personally and professionally.”
